Urban Education Alliance

A Membership Association

Introduction

The Urban Education Alliance (UEA) is a member organization of students, parents, teachers, businesses, and concerned citizens devoted primarily to the learning and development of minority students in urban school systems. We understand the value of the “village concept of raising a child” and support the holistic needs of each child and the school system in which he or she attends.

The UEA facilitates comprehensive support for students by organizing parents, teachers, professionals, and community organizations focused on K-12 schools. Secondly, it informs and educates teachers, parents, and organizational leaders about community-based resources that assist children as they persist through K-16 educational programs. Thirdly, it advocates for more rigorous coursework among K-12 students such as participation in enrichment or AP courses, college preparation and testing, and college coursework. Fourthly, it advocates for measures that assure alignment of classroom curricula with educational standards and with African-centered value constructs. Lastly, it develops or provides access to educational materials, curriculum, and programs that support the total needs of minority children and their families.

Students, parents, teachers, professionals,  and community organizations that provide resources to children and schools may benefit by membership in this organization. Join Us! Look at the individual and organizational benefits below for more details. Subscribe to our mailing list
