Chandra White-Cummings, J.D.
Black Man's Think Tank
Senior Fellow of the Center for Health Equity
Chandra has worked in several industries including banking, consumer brand marketing, publishing, nonprofit community education and advocacy, and the legal field. Her diverse professional, academic, and personal experiences have enriched her understanding of the interrelatedness of systems, policy, institutions, government, and individuals in addressing critical community and societal issues.
She is committed to working for change in the black community, as recognized by her appointment as an Azusa Scholar by Regent University while she was earning her law degree. As a member-at-large of the Dayton Council on Health Equity, she initiated a focus on black child-maternal health issues by educating council leadership on the proven links between reproductive health and incidences of low birth weight and premature births. Chandra has spoken at various events covering topics such as health and life empowerment for black women and girls; government response to issues affecting the black community; and the need for the black community to evaluate social and political issues more critically.
Chandra’s work as Senior Fellow of the Center for Health Equity will focus on initiating critical analyses accessible to both lay community members and professional practitioners, and will emphasize and highlight a holistic paradigm for understanding and impacting vital community issues. The work will particularly address health issues-especially those involving minority disparities; and the legal system as it relates to minority community political engagement.
Chandra is a proud HBCU graduate of Florida A & M University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
